summer’s end
Hey friends! It’s been a while since I last gave you all an update so let’s get straight to it.
From October 17-19, I will be tattooing at the Calgary Tattoo and Arts Festival in Calgary, Alberta! I will be joining the Drop The Ink Calgary team at their booth and taking walk-ins for the convention. I will mainly be offering my flash designs and the 151 Pokemon tattoos will be available in black and grey for $151 CAD or in color for $200 CAD.
From October 24-26, I will be guest spotting at Drop The Ink Toronto! I will be accepting up to two appointments per day- that’s 6 slots total. Any additional inquiries will be waitlisted until my next Toronto guest spot. By the time of posting this, there should be a link below this to submit your inquiries for Toronto RIGHT NOW :D!
With trips out of the way- it’s been going great in Brooklyn! As of typing this, I have 49 Pokémon booked out of the 151 which is insane… I am really happy about the success of this flash because I put a lot of thought into planning this drop and the work is paying off! I actually would like to do a Gen 2 flash but not for the same price and I might just work on Gen 3 and 4 while I’m at it. For the most part, most of my clients are around my age and these generations of Pokémon align with the time most of us played the games. I feel like it would pay off to do the next 3 generations it’s just that I don’t have the free time to work on them like I did earlier this year. So, let’s continue to see how the first 151 goes and I’ll assess whether it’s worth it or not to make more later.
I am looking to add more larger scale pieces to my portfolio. I will be offering large scale flash designs for full day sessions priced at $400 a day. Large scale custom pieces will be priced at $600 a day. I will announce these rates later this year but you guys heard it here first! To be clear, when I say large I don’t particularly mean sleeves. I’m not going to go from tattooing 2 inch Pokémon to full sleeves overnight. I just want to get comfortable with anything above palm sized.
Thank you all for continuing to support my journey- hopefully this summer has been wonderful to all of you. I am so happy to hear that some of you have even started your own families since I’ve been away- that’s amazing and congratulations to all the Poképarents out there! Remember to let your children choose their own starter Pokémon! I will probably send another update in the winter, whether it be this year or next- I hope you enjoyed reading and catching up with me and my tattoo stuff. Take care!
i’m coming back!
adielotattoo is coming back!
Thank you for subscribing to my quarterly newsletter! I have a ton of announcements to make and you will be among the first to know.
I return to work the second week of July- with bookings opening in June! That should give you all the time to send in your ideas and flash requests and give me enough time to relax and look through them all while I’m transitioning back into civilian life.
I will not be returning to Yant Studio. Instead, I’ll be moving into Junkmail Tattoo in Brooklyn! My time at Yant was great and being there allowed me to grow on my own and develop the techniques you see in some of my more recent work from last summer. I appreciate everyone I worked with and wish all the artists there the absolute best.
Junkmail is run by a long time friend of mine @dill.tattoos and it is a private studio in the Bushwick area. They are a very friendly group with exceptional work and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team. Working here will allow me to fully take control of my business as I transition into this next phase in my life.
Getting a tattoo from me will be simpler than ever. Fill out my form on my website and I’ll get back to you via email! Want a flash? Book it instantly with my scheduling software! Need a touch up from back in the days? I will honor all touch ups from 2024 free of charge until the end of 2025- it’s only fair as I’ve been gone for so long. I will announce later on when my touch up policy will change but until the end of the year, if I tattooed you anytime in 2024- come get a touch up if you really need one!
So while I was away, I actually had a lot of free time. I’ve been working on this Pokemon 151 flash and I’m super excited to launch this project. My goal is to tattoo all 151 Pokemon from gen 1 as soon as possible. They will all be 2 inches big and $151. Simple, right? I am also working on more detailed anime pieces at a discounted rate for my portfolio.
I seriously can’t wait to get back to tattooing. I never thought I would find something that would make me not only fall in love with art again but sustain me financially and I recognize my ability to do this at a high level- this just feels like something I have to do and I really want to do it. I can’t wait to end my term of service with the military so I can fully focus on growing my platform and giving back to the community that has kept a roof over my head. Did I mention monthly tattoo giveaways? That’ll be a thing now too!
I hope you are as excited as I am for my return. Thank you so much for your trust in me and continued support. I won’t bother you too much over email- again, this’ll be a quarterly thing where I check in on y’all and you check in on me. Let’s hold ourselves accountable and work towards our goals together. If I learned anything on this deployment, it’s that you are not alone in this journey of life. I hope you will continue to follow me in the next step of my journey. Cheers!
